R. Leone Zellini joined RENEW18 in January 2024, after studying at the University of Padua and earning his Master’s at the Free University of Berlin. His historico-philosophical interests concern modern philosophy and classical German philosophy, especially the interplay between scientific practice and metaphysics. His theoretical research is concerned with analogical reasoning, the use of models and figurative language in science and philosophy. Leone’s Ph.D. project, currently carried out under the supervision of Prof. Karin de Boer at KU Leuven, bridges these research topics by showing how Kant’s and Schelling’s recourse to analogical reasoning rested on Newton’s.
